Mineral Properties

Luster- Show us if our mineral is metallic or non
metallic. If it looks like metal, it is metallic.

if is not metal it mean it nonmetallic.
Color -Show us the color of a mineral is.
HardnessThe hardness of a metal or mineral.
Cleavage- it show us how How some minerals break.

                 Uneven or Straight.

Reflections

1.What did you enjoy most about this project and
    why?

i really enjoin work with the computer try to edit my partner and i video.
2.What was the most challenging for you during
    this project and why?

the most challenging part was when some of the hypothesis my partner and i made were wrong and had ti look for the right minerals.
3.What new skills did you learn from doing this
    project?

the new skills i learn during this project was i didn't  know that some rock/mineral were made of magnet.
4.Is there anything you could have done to improve
   any of your work? Explain?

i think i would like to make time to finish what i have to done at the first place of a project.

asthenosphere

activities: rap
me and tahir spend some im doing this rap video the also use vocab to discribe our rap music. our vocab were:
  1. earthquake: when the eath surface started to shake
  2. crust: is the outer layer of the earth.
  3. divergent bound: is when the plates move apart from each other.
  4. convergent bound: is when the plates come together.
  5. transform bound: is when the plates slide by slide next to earth other.
  6. convection current : it what move the earth tectonic plates
  7. subduction zone: is when one plate goes under one plate.
  8. tsunami: it when an earthquake happen under the ocean.
critical thinking question

i agree because of the tectonic plates of  the earth cause the earth surface to seperate away from, come together, or slide agaisnt each other. the earth tectonic also moves the continent or country away from each other or agaisnt each other. it also create oceanic crust goes over the continental crust. some time if two continental crust come agains't each other they create a all new island.
even if the two continental crust going against each other there a materials stuff between both continental crust call magma that come from in the" mid-ocean ridge".all of this happen when the plates are moving part magma come out and fill in the cap. magma is "lava" and while the magma coming out it creating new crust to come out on the top of the old crust. that also cause the spreading of the whole world to move away from each other. everyone should know that we only have one EARTH!!!!!!!!!!

reflection
  1. what did you enjoy most about this project and why?
the rap i made with my classmate tahir and Ms. Kara also give us a big hand to finish our rap.

     2. what was most challenging for you during this project and why?

the lab was the most hard because it was very hard for me to see where the color is spreading.

    3. what new skills did you learn from doing this project?

i have learn how food coloring spread went theres hot water or cold water.

4.is there anything that you you could have done to improve any of your work? Explain.

i have done a nice model of all the faults there is any earthquake that happen .

Asthenosphere

activities: convection currents

this lab was all about how the earth plates move. convection current is the way the heat of the magma move in.Convection Current is what moves earth's tectonic plates. the earth tectonic plates always is on the top of the mantle(asthenosphere). the mantle is the hottest, also locate under great pressure.
this lab was all about how the plates move in three ways. how experince begin with a tub full of water and a small cup with hot water, also we have used a food coloring .first step was we put the food coloring in the the cold water. after the food coloring were put in the the water and the change of water causing the botton of turn red. the second step was to put a little cup that full of hot water under the tub of cold water. the thing that happen putting the food coloring spread at the botton and rise back the top cause of the heat.
the last step is when we had to put the food coloring in the side of the tub and it was spreading around the tub and create a circle.

lithosphere

 activities: faults model

I have made a model that present faults of the earth. faults are the seperation of the the earth during an earthquake. faults case many kind of danger such has creating a big earthquake that broken many buidlings and hurt many people. there are three type of faults and they are normal faults it when the left side of the earth surface goes up and the right side stand the same. reverse faults is when the right side of the earth surface goes up and the left side stand the same.strike-slip faults is when both of the surface goes again'st  each other.

The Phases of the Moon

VOCAB WORDS

Lunar Phases(les phases lunaires)
change shape of the bright part of the moon that we can see.

Waning(déclin)
It when the moon bright part getting smaller.

Waxing(épilation à la cire)
It when the moon bright part getting bigger.

Full moon(pleine lune)
It when we can see the entire moon in the shy.

First Qaurter(premier trimestre)
It when we can only see half part of the Moon.

Crescent waning(Dernier croissant)
It when less than half of the moon is visible.

Gibbous waning(gibbeuse décroissante)
It when more than half of the Moon is visible.

Gibbous waxing(Gibbeuse épilation) Croissant
It when more than half of the moon is showing.

Crescent waxing(épilation Croissant)
It when less than half of the moon is showing.

New moon(nouvelle lune)
it when we can't see no moon in the shy.

SUMMARY

The Moon have 8 phases. the first phase is new moon is when the moon is not visible. Second phase is waxing crescent it when the less than half of the moon is visible in the shy. First Quarter is when we can only see half of the moon in the sky. Waxing Gibbous in when more than half part of the moon is showing in the shy. Full moon is when the whole moon is visible in the sky. Waning gibbous more than half of the moon is showing in the sky. Last Qaurter in when we only can see half part of the moon. Waning crescent is when less than half part of the moon is showing in the sky.

How earth affected by movement( revolution)?
while the Earth revolve around the Sun. When the Earth revolves, its axis always points to a star call polaris and it also get's direct sunlight from the sun that will be Summer. Indirect sunlight is when the earth axis are away from the sun and that will be Winter.  It also cause changes of seasons and tides. When sunlight directly hit the equator, The season became Spring and Fall. Earth revolution causes tides movement. When the sun, earth also moon are at the right angle, it's cause Neap Tides. when the sun, earth and moon are at the straight line, it cause Spring Tides.

The Triassic Time Period
The Triassic period start at 248 to 206 million year ago. Triassic time period also a huge landmass. Like africa and the south america come together and form pangea. Bunker is a rodck layers find in germany. In the Middle of the Triassic time period Laurasiz and gondwana were the only two contiemenet. Some Events That happen in my time period were extintion of spicies, Volcanic Eruption . the only spicies that were alive are Eazstrodon, Theriodontio and pterrosaurs. They were also plant in my time period are Glossoptnis and cycads.

Reflection
1.  What did you enjoy most about this project?
This project was great as miss Kara give us chance to work independently and give us enough time to finish it with Extra Credit and I also enjoy making blog and researching the picture of the organism livings during Triassic period. It was incredible to think about those ancient organism which were once alive in this world.
2.  What was most challenging about this project? Why?
The most challenging part of this project was that we had to make Reference and it was hard to write information about every single web were we find our Data of the project. And I also feel little hard about finding information since there was different information on different websites. So it was hard to decide about which one to choose. because we always try to gave specific information and we have no idea about which information could be correct about our period but by Ms. Kara's help I got perfect information.
3.  What would you change about this project and Why?
Some thing I would like to change about this project is to let every body choose which period they want to (Interesting period for them) work on and I would gave more time to work on this project that the students can learn more about their period (about this project).
4.  What are 3 things that you learned from this project?
I learn lot of things about Earth history especially about earliest life on Earth.
  • How mountains formed.
  •  How animals moved from water to land.
  • Which generation exist during what time and which species and genera was died during that period.
  • When was dinosaurs existed.
  • We determine lot of vocabulary and most interesting facts about earth history.
